Biological Baselines

Whether you are actively tracking macros for a bodybuilding show or simply aiming to lose weight predictably, knowing your body's exact caloric baseline is the only reliable starting line.

Mifflin-St Jeor Standard

Many tools use the outdated Harris-Benedict equation. Our logic relies strictly on the Mifflin-St Jeor method, proven by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics to be highly accurate across modern populations.

Knowledge Base

Understanding BMI, BMR, and TDEE Methodology.

The letters surrounding fitness math can be confusing. To control your health outcomes, you must understand the difference between your static mass correlation (BMI) and your actual energy expenditure rate (BMR & TDEE).

The Calculation Branch

BMR (Male) = 10 x weight(kg) + 6.25 x height(cm) - 5 x age(y) + 5

Industrial Standards.

The calculator scales your input into precise Metric parameters (kg/cm) automatically. From there, it isolates your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) — which is how many calories you burn doing absolutely nothing (coma). We then multiply that resting rate by your lifestyle activity factor to yield your TDEE.

In-Depth Analysis & Reference Data

Your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) is your maintenance calorie level. If you eat this exact amount, your weight will not change. If you wish to lose roughly 1lb per week, you should subtract 500 calories per day from this final TDEE output. Note that the BMI calculation is flawed for heavy lifters, as it cannot differentiate between heavy muscle and fat mass.

Registry Questions & FAQ.

Why is age a variable?

As human beings age, natural metabolism slows down and muscle mass generally decreases. The algorithm subtracts a tiny fraction of energetic expenditure for every year of life to mimic cellular efficiency.

Is BMI still reliable?

BMI is an excellent population-scale diagnostic tool, but breaks down on individual athletic extremes. An NFL linebacker will register as clinically obese on a BMI scale despite being incredibly lean.
