Biology & The Temporal Map
Pregnancy is calculated based on the first day of your last menstrual period (LMP). While the average human gestation is 280 days, individual variation based on cycle length is common. Use this oracle to map your trimesters.
Milestone Benchmarks
Trimester 1: Week 1 to 12. Critical development phase.
Trimester 2: Week 13 to 26. Growth and movement.
Trimester 3: Week 27 to 40. Final maturation.
Accuracy Note
This "oracle" provides an estimation based on Naegele's rule. Clinical confirmation via ultrasound remains the gold standard for definitive dating.
About the Due Date Oracle
Estimate your delivery timeline, monitor trimesters, and track biological milestones. Enter your values in the fields above and the result updates immediately — there is nothing to submit or wait for.
The Due Date Oracle runs entirely in your browser using server-side PHP calculation. Results are computed the moment you update any input field. There are no loading screens, and nothing you type is stored or transmitted to any external service.
How to use the Due Date Oracle
- 1Enter your values into the input fields. Most inputs accept whole numbers or decimals. Dropdowns and toggles switch the mode or unit automatically.
- 2Read the result in the dark output panel. The answer updates immediately as you change any input — no Submit button required.
- 3If you get an unexpected result, re-check your unit selection and verify the input values one at a time. Most unexpected outputs come from a single mismatched unit or transposed digit.
How to get accurate results
Where units matter — such as kilograms versus pounds, miles versus kilometres, or annual versus monthly — confirm you are using the correct unit for each field before reading the output. The calculator cannot detect unit errors; it computes exactly what you enter.
For financial calculations, use the same currency throughout. For date and time calculations, verify the date format is correct (YYYY-MM-DD). For engineering and science calculations, double-check the magnitude of your inputs — a factor of 1,000 error in the input produces a factor of 1,000 error in the output.
Privacy and data security
This tool has no account system, no login, and no data collection. When you close or refresh the page, all values you entered are discarded. It is safe to use with sensitive financial, medical, or business figures without any privacy concern. USECALC does not store inputs, share data, or display targeted advertising based on what you calculate.
Pregnancy Due Date Calculation Methodology.
The Calculation Branch
Industrial Standards.
Naegele's Rule (the medical standard since 1812): add 1 year, subtract 3 months, and add 7 days to the LMP date. Equivalently, add 280 days. This assumes a 28-day menstrual cycle and ovulation on day 14. Women with longer or shorter cycles may have different conception dates. Ultrasound dating (crown-rump length at 8–13 weeks) is more accurate than LMP when available.
In-Depth Analysis & Reference Data
Pregnancy milestones by week: Week 4 — positive pregnancy test possible. Week 8 — heartbeat detectable by ultrasound. Week 12 — end of first trimester, miscarriage risk drops significantly. Week 20 — anatomy scan ultrasound, sex determination. Week 24 — viability threshold (survival possible with intensive care). Week 37 — considered full term. Week 42 — post-term, typically when induction is considered. Most spontaneous deliveries occur between 38–41 weeks.
Registry Questions & FAQ.
How accurate is a pregnancy due date?
Only about 5% of babies are born on their exact due date. Approximately 80% of births occur within 2 weeks of the due date (weeks 38–42). First-time mothers tend to go past their due date more often than those who have had previous pregnancies. Ultrasound dating at 8–12 weeks has an accuracy of ±5–7 days, which is generally more accurate than LMP-based calculation.
What is the difference between gestational age and fetal age?
Gestational age counts from the first day of the last menstrual period — this is 2 weeks before conception typically occurs. Fetal age (embryonic age) counts from the actual date of conception. Healthcare providers use gestational age as the standard because LMP is a known date while conception date is rarely known precisely. A 40-week pregnancy is 38 weeks of fetal development.

Common Questions
Does the Due Date Oracle need an internet connection to calculate?
Once the page has loaded, no. The Due Date Oracle runs in your browser using JavaScript. The calculation happens on your device — not on a server — so results appear immediately and work offline once the page is cached.
Is my data private when I use this tool?
Yes. We do not collect, store, or transmit the values you enter. There is no account system, no analytics capturing your inputs, and no database on the other end receiving your data. When you close the tab, everything you typed is gone.
Who uses the Due Date Oracle?
Anyone who needs a fast, reliable answer without signing up for an account or installing software. The tool is useful for professionals who want a quick sanity check, students working through problems, and anyone who prefers doing the math properly rather than estimating.
When to use this calculator
The Due Date Oracle is useful whenever you need the correct answer rather than a rough estimate. A common mistake is approximating values that a tool can compute exactly in seconds — particularly in contexts where the result feeds into another decision, such as setting a price, sizing a component, or planning a budget.
Use it as a first check before committing to a figure, or as a way to verify a result you have already calculated by hand. The tool is free, there is no limit on how many times you can use it, and the result is the same every time for the same inputs.
